posted by Dick Ruane - 11 Aug 2003

The Scottish Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Frank MacAveety, visited Inverness Rowing Club on 11th August and named the club's new Sims Coxed IV - "Dochfour".

In welcoming the Minister, I.R.C. President Paddy Walsh noted the determination of the Club to provide adequate facilities for the increasing numbers of the local community who are taking up rowing and thanked Inverness and Nairn Enterprise and Awards for All for their assistance with the purchase of the new boat.

The Minister met many of the club's members including Alan Sinclair, who represented Scotland in the recent Home International Regatta and discussed the club's plans for a new boat-house with architect Jessica Wolff.
