Loch Laggan Weekend.

posted by Roy R Sinclair - 13 Sep 2004

Inverness Rowing Club recently held what has become a regular training weekend camp with almost twenty members enjoying the spectacular ' Monarch of the Glen ' waters of Loch Laggan. A most satisfactory weekend was held with a number of recently joined members taking part along with three visiting members from Aberdeen University Boat Club.

Conditions were breezy to say the least on the Saturday, but calmer, sunny conditions on the Sunday permitted some very useful coaching sessions under the watchful eye of Senior Coach Ian Hunter.

This coming weekend sees two events in which Inverness members are taking part.

On Saturday, male and female athletes travel to Aberdeen to compete in the Aberdeen Boat Club's Sprint regatta on the River Dee whilst on Sunday afternoon, the Nairn Harbour Festival hosts a series of invitation rowing events in the harbour area in which crews from the Inverness club and Aberdeen Boat Club compete as part of a comprehensive programme of activities in the three day Harbour Festival. Rowing events are scheduled to take place from 3pm till approximately 4.15pm on the Sunday afternoon.
