Last Saturday (29th January 2005) saw the Inverness Mens R2 crew of Dave Howard (bow), Derek McMorrine, Joe Wright, Duncan Alexander, Ken Sinclair, Andy Robb, Chris Giles, Neil Wallace (stroke) and Lawrence Edwards (cox) taking part in the Western Eights Head on the twisting waters of the River Clyde. Competing in Division 2 in the afternoon, this crew recorded a fine time of 19 minutes 36 seconds to claim third place in the R2 section and 5th place overall.

A most encouraging performance in their preparation for the forthcoming Tenon Ltd Inverness Eights Head on the Caledonian Canal on 19th February and the Tideway Eights Head in London in March.
