Inverness Rowing Club again achieved success and many good performances at the two day Henley Masters Regatta last weekend on the River Thames in winning Womens Veteran C Quadruple Sculls.
The Womens Veteran C Quadruple sculled as a composite crew with Ailie Ord (Clydesdale ARC), Susanne Standish-Hunter, Mandy Towrie (both Inverness Rowing Club) and Alison Hulme (St Andrew BC) which won their Gold Medal by a margin of two lengths over Swansea Rowing Club.
In the Womens Veteran C Double Sculls event, Mandy Towrie and Alison Hulme were narrowly beaten in their semi final by a crew from Wycliffe Rowing Club which then won the closest of finals against the Inverness/Clydesdale composite crew of Hazel Smith and Ailie Ord.
A most satisfactory and encouraging performance in the club's preparation for the World Masters Regatta being held this year at Strathclyde Park near Hamilton where approximately 8000 competitors are expected take part in the largest regatta in the world.
