Following the Awards Night, two Inverness crews travelled to the Aberdeen Eights Head which took place on the River Dee on Sunday 28th January. These crews achieved two satisfactory second place positions, one in the Mens Open Category in Division 1 behind winners Aberdeen Boat Club and in the Mens Restricted 2 Category in Division 2 in which they just failed by 7 seconds to hold off the challenge of another crew from Aberdeen Boat Club.
The Inverness crew in the Division 1 Open event consisted of Dave Rothwell (bow), Ken Andrews, Ken Sinclair, Colin Sinclair, Roy Sinclair, Duncan Alexander, Neil Wallace, Jon Muir (stroke), Lawrence Edwards (cox).
All athletes also took part in the Restricted 2 event in Division 2, with the exception of Dave Rothwell and Roy Sinclair whose places were taken by Brian Bell and Tom Baker who had earlier raced their coxless pair in the Division 1 race.

Next weekend sees the staging of the Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships in Wishaw Sports Centre on Sunday 5th February when Inverness Rowing Club will be represented by Joe Wright (Men's 40 plus event), Colin Sinclair (Mens Junior 16 event), Carole Wells (Women's "21 again" ? category) and Rachel Wells (Womens Junior 12).

Alan Sinclair represents Aberdeen Boat Club in the Mens under 23 event.
