Medals from both sides of the Atlantic

Inverness Rowing Club members achieved success at two separate regattas last
weekend.
Hazel Smith took part in the World Masters Regatta which was this year held at
Princeton in the USA.
She was a member of crews which took part in four events, winning gold medals
in Veteran C Quadruple Sculls and Veteran D Coxed fours. In Veteran C Double
Sculls and Veteran D Eights, her crews just missed out on gold in producing
the tightest of finishes to claim second place in both these events.
Nearer to home, Colin Sinclair was the club's representative at the Aberdeen
Sprint where he won the Mens Novice Single Sculls and also took part in Mens
R2 and Mens Junior 18 Single Sculls in which he produced one of the closest
finishes of the day but just missed his second win by the a mere 2 feet
against Lockhart of Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association.
Colin's elder brother Alan, representing Aberdeen Boat Club, also had a
successful day in winning three events, Mens Open Single Sculls, Mens Open
Coxless Pairs and Mens Invitation Coxless Pairs.
