Two Inverness Rowing Club crews travel to Dublin this weekend for the annual
Dublin Head of the River Race which is to be held on the River Liffey on
Saturday 3rd February.
Both mens and womens eights have been training for this event since last
November and are looking forward to the race with keen anticipation of a
successful trip over the Irish Sea. Training has been conducted under the
strict, experienced eye of coach Ian Hunter and has been stepped up over the
past month to hone his athletes for the challenges of the many Irish crews,
the tidal surges of the Liffey and the many historic bridges which
characterise this famous stretch of water which passes through the middle of
Dublin.
Crews and their supporters travel over to Dublin to have a preliminary outing
on the Friday to familiarise themselves with the course prior to the race
which starts at 11.30am on the Saturday.
