GB and Scottish Time Trials 21st October 2007

The SARA Time Trials were successfully held on the Caledonian Canal on Sunday
21st October in fine, calm conditions.
A range of categories was contested,with the fastest time of the day being
recorded by International Men's Lightweight Sculler Jonny Logan (Clyde ARC)who
recorded a time of 19:31 with his brother Chris (Glasgow Uni BC)in second
place with a time of 19:43. Fastest Under 23 Lightweight was Daniel Shankland
(castle Semple RC)in 19:56. Fastest Junior sculler was Sean Cassidy
(Strathclyde Park RC) in 20:39 followed by Colin Sinclair (InvernessRC) in
21:02
Fastest woman on the 5 km course was Kelly Limond (Loch ard RC) in 21:35 with
Clydesdale ARC's Ellie Dorman in second place in 21:43. Under 23 lightweight
sculler Imogen Walsh (Clyde ARC and daughter of President Paddy)recorded a
fine time of 22:20 with the fastest female junior being Rosie Young
(Strathclyde Park RC) in a time of 22:42.
Further south at the GB Senior Time Trials at Boston, Lincolnshire, Scots
athletes were performing to a high standard with Colin Williamson and Alan
Sinclair amongst the athletes representing Leander Club. In a field of over 70
scullers including many international athletes, Colin achieved 18th place with
a time of 19:41.98 with Alan close behind in 20th place in 19:45.15.
This Wednesday 24th October sees the Inverness Club's AGM at the Loch Ness
House Hotel at 7.30pm whilst next weekend sees the SARA Faskally coaching
weekend for intermediate athletes at Loch Faskally, Pitlochry when several
Inverness members will participate in this annual event
