Inverness Rowing Club is holding the HAWCO SPRINT REGATTA on Saturday the 16th August. This year's event is again being sponsored by Hawco Inverness.

The event is being held on the Caledonian Canal over a 500 metre course close to the Boathouse. The event is very popular and this year has attracted crews from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Dumfries and Bradford as well as from the home club. Also included in some of the crews competing will be medallists from the recent Home Countries International Regatta which took place at Cardiff Bay in Wales recently. A full race programme, which includes junior, senior, veteran and adaptive events, is expected to start at 10.00am and be completed before 5.00pm.

Spectators are welcome to come and witness the tremendous spectacle of top Scottish crews racing on a length of water which is acknowledged by many as the best in Scotland for rowing. The Boathouse is located two hundred metres beyond the Jacobite Cruises Office on the Torvean golf course side of the canal.
