St Andrew Boat Club/Edinburgh University Boat Club Head of the Forth

On the River Forth at Stirling on Saturday 12th October, the St Andrew Boat
Club/Edinburgh University Boat Club Head of the River was held in difficult
conditions with a heavy stream flowing after a day of torrential rain on the
previous day.
Nonetheless, some excellent racing was witnessed, with a Castle Semple RC /
Stirling RC composite Veteran Quadruple Scull being the fastest crew covering
the twisty upstream course in a time of 23 minutes 49 seconds.
Although the strong stream proved difficult for some of the emerging
university crews, Edinburgh University Boat Club recorded a time of 26 minutes
27 seconds as the fastest Mens Open Coxed Four, whilst Strathclyde University
Boat Club, stroked by Colin Sinclair from the Inverness club, overcame the
challenges from the Dundee and Edinburgh University Boat Clubs to win the Mens
Restricted 2 Coxed Fours in a commendable time of 28 minutes 53 seconds.
