Two former members of Inverness Rowing Club took part in last weekend's GB Senior Rowing Trials held in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Colin Williamson and Alan Sinclair, also former members of Aberdeen University Boat Club and Aberdeen Boat Club and now members of the Leander Club in Henley on Thames were both trialling in the Mens Heavyweight category in which Alan finished in the excellent time of 18 minutes 50.56 seconds to achieve 5th place overall whilst Colin completed the 5 km course in a time of 19 minutes 15.11 seconds in 18th place.

Other Scottish athletes competing in this category were Jonathan Adams (Clydesdale ARC) and Murray Wilkojc (Newcastle University BC) who finished in 46th and 55th places respectively in a field of 84 athletes.

Last weekend's Clyde ARC Head of the River in Glasgow was unfortunately cancelled due to unsafe river conditions on the Clyde and it is hoped that the Glasgow RC Head of the River scheduled for this Saturday does not suffer the same fate.
