Inverness Success at the Belfast Sprint Regatta

Last Saturday 23rd May, three members of Inverness Rowing Club travelled to
Northern Ireland to compete in the Belfast Sprints organised by Belfast Rowing
Club.
Success was achieved on the 500 metre sprint course by all three with Hazel
Smith winning the mixed doubles sculls with a crewmate from Belfast Boat Club,
Katie Van Exan winning in mixed eights with Belfast Boat Club crewmates whilst
Jonny Harvey coxed the Belfast Boat Club's womens veteran
coxed four to victory.
Next Saturday, the Inverness club travel to compete in a variety of junior,
senior and veteran events at the Castle Semple Rowing Club's
regatta on the 1000 metre lane course at Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire. Two of
the club's junior members will also compete in the womens
junior coxed quadruple sculls event in the first ever Scottish Junior
Inter-Regional Championship being held in conjunction with
Saturday's regatta.
