Aberdeen Fours and Small Boats Heads - Win for Alastair Duff

Last weekend, Saturday and Sunday 31st October/1st November, saw a record
entry of crews from clubs throughout Scotland for the Aberdeen Fours and Small
Boats staged on the tidal waters of the River Dee in Aberdeen.
Saturday's Fours events resulted in some extremely creditable
performances with the fastest crew in Division 1 being the Aberdeen Boat
club's open coxed four stroked by Andrew Crosland which covered the 2500
metre upstream course in a time of 12 minutes 31 seconds. Fastest crew in
Division 2 was the Clydesdale ARC quadruple sculls crew stroked by Chris Rae
which took 11 minutes 25 seconds to cross the finishing line. Other winning
crews on Saturday came mainly from Aberdeen clubs with the exception of womens
open coxed fours won by Clydesdale ARC, womens novice coxed fours won by
Heriot Watt University BC and womens junior 15 coxed fours won by George
Heriots School.
Crews from Aberdeen clubs were to the fore again in the Small Boats Head on
Sunday with the exception of mens novice coxed quadruple sculls won by
Strathclyde University BC, mens novice double sculls won by Strathclyde
University BC, mens R2 single sculls won by Chris Rae of Clydesdale ARC and
mens veteran C/D single sculls won by Alastair Duff of Inverness RC.
