Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships

Inverness Rowing Club combined with Culloden Academy Indoor Rowing Club to
create a mixed team of juniors at the 2010 Scottish Indoor Rowing
Championships which again were held at Heriot Watt University campus at
Riccarton on the western outskirts of Edinburgh.
Led by Drama teacher and Inverness RC member Katie van Exan, and Junior Rowing
Coach Susanne Standish-Hunter, twelve girls and boys were entered in a variety
of individual and team events.
Top performers in the individual races were Rachael Wells winning silver in
Girls Under16, Rozy Shepherd winning bronze in Girls Under17 and Lana Campbell
placing a very close 4th in Girls Under13.
In the Under15 Relay event with 18 entries, the Inverness/Culloden team of
Kyle Stuart, Fraser Wilson, Cameron Marshall (George Watson's College BC)
and Lana Campbell won bronze overall (including all-boys, all-girls and mixed
teams) and gold in the mixed team category.
Rozy Shepherd (Inverness RC) combined with girls from Nithsdale and George
Watsons to take silver in the Girls Under19 Relay while Naomi Campbell
(Inverness RC), Alison Robertson (Inverness RC), Elaine Ross (Culloden
Academy) and Jess Boon (Ross RC) came 4th.
Kyle Stuart and Fraser Wilson (both Culloden Academy) combined with Sam Boon
(Ross RC) and Callum Stephen (George Watson's College BC) in the Boys
Under19 relay but were out-powered by older, stronger teams.
Mary Clouston (Inverness RC) won silver in the 50+ category and the Inverness
& Friends team achieved another silver medal in the Women's Open Relay.
Carole Wells was 14th in the Women's Open individual event.

Black Isle taking part in the GB Senior Trials at Dorney Lake in the Thames
Valley.
