North athletes perform well at GB Senior Rowing Trials

Two Inverness athletes took part in the Final GB Senior Trials held last
weekend at Hazewinkel in Belgium.
Following highly satisfactory performances at the recent February Trials,
Imogen Walsh from Inverness, now rowing with Clyde RC in Glasgow, excelled
against other high performance athletes to progress through time trial and
semi finals to claim an outstanding fourth place finish in the A final of the
women's lightweight single sculls event. Alan Sinclair from the Black
Isle rowed with his Leander clubmate Nick Clark in the men's heavyweight
coxless pairs event in which they just missed out by a mere two seconds in
their time trial to qualify for the A / B finals. After winning their
semi-final by a convincing margin, they were just pipped on the line for first
place in the C final of this event by another Leander Club pair.
