Success for Sharkey at Clydesdale Regatta

In fine dry sunny conditions at the Clydesdale ARC Regatta on the River Clyde
last Saturday, Inverness member John Sharkey was in excellent form and
produced two outstanding performances in winning both his semi-final and final
in the men's veteran single sculls event. Against Peter Craig of Glasgow
Rowing Club, he overcame a four second handicap to overhaul his opponent to
win by two lengths and later won his final by a similar margin in an exciting
race with Ron Wallace from Aberdeen Boat Club.
Next weekend, 15th and 16th May, Inverness crews will be competing in the ever
popular annual two day North East Regatta being held on the tidal waters of
the River Dee in Aberdeen.:yes:
