Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships

Last Sunday 23rd January, the Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships took place
at Heriot - Watt University at the Riccarton Campus on the western outskirts
of Edinburgh.
Several north athletes were included in the large entry of over 500
competitors of all ages representing schools, rowing and fitness clubs from
throughout Scotland and from further afield.
Sean Corrigall from Orkney, representing Reading University Rowing Club won
Gold in the mens open event with a controlled, polished performance to record
a fine time of 6 minutes 7 seconds, well ahead of a large field of 59
competitors.
Rachael Wells from Inverness Rowing Club rowing well to win bronze in the
womens junior 18 lightweight event. Also competing from Inverness were Rozy
Shepherd who finished just outside a medal position in the womens junior 16
event and Rachael's Dad Rick who just missed out on a medal in the mens 40 to
49 heavyweight event.
