Inverness win at Aberdeen Eights Head

Last Saturday 5th February, the Aberdeen Eights Head of the River took place
in favourable weather conditions on the River Dee.
In Division 1, Inverness Rowing Club were represented in the Mixed Eights
event by Hazel Smith (stroke), Hazel Geddes, John Sharkey, Dave Rothwell,
Richard Mathieson (Aberdeen BC), Jodi Busby, Gary Hunt , Caroline Keith (bow)
and Grant Smith (Aberdeen BC - cox). Racing over the 3000 metre upstream
course, the Inverness crew outpaced their Aberdeen opposition and survived a
clash of blades with two other crews as they passed through the King George VI
Bridge to record a satisfactory win in their event category in a time of 14
minutes 53 seconds.
