Clydesdale Main Regatta - 7th May 2011
posted by Roy Sinclair - 10 May 2011, 11:09 p.m.
In variable weather conditions at the Clydesdale ARC Regatta on the River
Clyde last Saturday, Inverness member Alastair Duff was successful in winning
the Mens Veteran D/E single sculls event after narrowly missing out on a place
in the final of the Mens R2 single sculls to York of Clyde ARC. In his
semi-final of the Mens Veteran F/G single sculls event, Roy Sinclair had a
close race against Gordon Kerr of Nithsdale ARC, with the verdict going to
Kerr by just under one length. Kerr later went on to win the final of this
event.
Some pictures of this regatta appear in the Gallery together with pictures
from the annual Barony Cup races between the student and graduate oarsmen and
oarswomen from Strathclyde University
Next weekend, Inverness crews will be competing in the ever popular annual two
day North East Regatta being held on the tidal waters of the River Dee in
Aberdeen.
