GB ROWING TEAM - OLYMPIC TRIALS - Dorney Lake, Eton - 10th & 11th March 2012

posted by Roy Sinclair - 7 Mar 2012, 11:36 a.m.

Two north athletes, one from Inverness and one from Ross-shire, have been selected in the list of 93 contenders who will be racing at Dorney Lake this weekend to challenge for places in the 60-strong party for Rowing World Cup events in May and June this year, and from that team there will be a further whittling down to a 48-strong Olympic team to compete back at Dorney Lake in the Olympic Games in the summer.

Current world champion Imogen Walsh, presently a member of London Rowing Club, who was part of the Gold Medal winning lightweight women's quadruple sculls crew at last year's World Championships in Bled will be challenging for a sculling seat in the women's team whilst Alan Sinclair, last year's Henley Royal Regatta Gold medallist in the Leander Club men's quadruple sculls crew, will challenge for a sculling seat in the men's team.
