GB ROWING TEAM - OLYMPIC TRIALS - Dorney Lake, Eton - 10th & 11th March 2012

Two north athletes, one from Inverness and one from Ross-shire, have been
selected in the list of 93 contenders who will be racing at Dorney Lake this
weekend to challenge for places in the 60-strong party for Rowing World Cup
events in May and June this year, and from that team there will be a further
whittling down to a 48-strong Olympic team to compete back at Dorney Lake in
the Olympic Games in the summer.
Current world champion Imogen Walsh, presently a member of London Rowing Club,
who was part of the Gold Medal winning lightweight women's quadruple
sculls crew at last year's World Championships in Bled will be
challenging for a sculling seat in the women's team whilst Alan Sinclair,
last year's Henley Royal Regatta Gold medallist in the Leander Club
men's quadruple sculls crew, will challenge for a sculling seat in the
men's team.
