A strong international crew from the Czech Rowing Federation which included
several world champion oarsmen wrested the first place away from last years
winners Leander Club by a margin of just over 20 seconds with the Molesey Club
crew following 5 seconds behind in third place. Both Alan Sinclair from
Ross-shire and Sean Dixon from Edinburgh were members of the Leander Club crew
which finished in second place and claimed the Page Pennant as the fastest GB
crew.
The top finishing Scottish crew from Glasgow Rowing Club completed the 4
& 1/4 mile course in fine style to finish in 41st place recording a fine
time
of 18 minutes 50.19 seconds.
