Inverness athletes race at Henley Royal Regatta - 27th June to 1st July

At Henley Royal Regatta this week, Inverness will be represented in two
separate events.
Imogen Walsh from Inverness and Alan Sinclair from Belmaduthy in Ross-shire
started their successful rowing careers with Inverness Rowing Club on the
waters of the Caledonian Canal in Inverness. Alan's rowing career
continued as a member of Aberdeen University Boat Club and Aberdeen Boat Club
and now as a member of the Leander Club in Henley on Thames whilst
Imogen's rowing career continued with Glasgow University Boat Club and
Clyde Amateur Rowing Club in Glasgow and now as a member of London Rowing
Club.
Following excellent performances by both athletes in earlier regattas,
national trials, World Championship and international regattas over the past
nine months, Imogen will race in her single scull with her first race on
Thursday in the Princess Royal Challenge Cup against K Pajusalu representing
the R.C. Kalev from Estonia. Alan races with his Leander Club crewmate John
Collins with his first race on Friday in the Double Sculls Challenge Cup
against the winners of the preliminary heat between P van Schie and T J
Doornbos of University of Groningen and Amsterdamsche Studenten
Roeivereeniging Nereus from Holland and E J Grisedale and J C Guppy of
Northwich Rowing Club and Eastbourne Rowing Club.
