posted by Roy Sinclair - 25 Jun 2012, 11:57 p.m.

At Henley Royal Regatta this week, Inverness will be represented in two separate events.

Imogen Walsh from Inverness and Alan Sinclair from Belmaduthy in Ross-shire started their successful rowing careers with Inverness Rowing Club on the waters of the Caledonian Canal in Inverness. Alan's rowing career continued as a member of Aberdeen University Boat Club and Aberdeen Boat Club and now as a member of the Leander Club in Henley on Thames whilst Imogen's rowing career continued with Glasgow University Boat Club and Clyde Amateur Rowing Club in Glasgow and now as a member of London Rowing Club.

Following excellent performances by both athletes in earlier regattas, national trials, World Championship and international regattas over the past nine months, Imogen will race in her single scull with her first race on Thursday in the Princess Royal Challenge Cup against K Pajusalu representing the R.C. Kalev from Estonia. Alan races with his Leander Club crewmate John Collins with his first race on Friday in the Double Sculls Challenge Cup against the winners of the preliminary heat between P van Schie and T J Doornbos of University of Groningen and Amsterdamsche Studenten Roeivereeniging Nereus from Holland and E J Grisedale and J C Guppy of Northwich Rowing Club and Eastbourne Rowing Club.
