Success for Inverness at Henley Royal Regatta

Gold for Alan Sinclair in the Double Sculls Challenge Cup at Henley Royal
Regatta in the finals on Sunday 1st July. In company with his fellow Leander
clubmate John Collins, Alan stroked their boat to an emphatic win in the final
by four and a quarter lengths ahead of the Norwegian double from Oslo. Their
semi final on Saturday saw a comfortable win against another Oslo crew which
was preceeded on Friday by a fine win in wet and windy conditions in their
quarter final against a double from the Nereus/Groningen university club from
Holland.
Imogen Walsh raced in her single scull on Friday in the Princess Royal
Challenge Cup against K Pajusalu representing the R.C. Kalev from Estonia but
despite sculling well in the difficult headwind conditions was unable to get
the better of her much heavier opponent who ultimately met her match by the
winner from Canada in the final of this event on Sunday.
