Excellent results for Inverness Athletes at GB Rowing Trials

posted by Roy Sinclair - 11 Feb 2013, 9:17 a.m.

Two Inverness athletes took part in the GB Rowing Team Second Winter Assessment trials at Boston, Lincolnshire on Saturday 9th February

Excellent results were recorded with Imogen Walsh winning the women's lightweight single sculls by a convincing 44 second margin over second placed Kathryn Twyman who was her crewmate in the GB quadruple scull which won gold at the 2011 World Championships.

In the mens heavyweight coxless pairs, Alan Sinclair claimed a significant fourth place with his crewmate Nathaniell Reilly O'Donnell, just missing out on third place by a mere 0.23 seconds.

Both athletes are members of the GB rowing squad which trains at Caversham in the Thames Valley in preparation for the forthcoming Samsung World Rowing Cup series of regattas the first of which kicks off in March in Sydney, Australia
