Last Saturday, Inverness Rowing Club members yet again had a successful outing claiming four wins and 12 medals at the Castle Semple Regatta on Castle Semple Loch at Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire.

The Open J14 quad of Joseph Wright, Angus Thomson, Bronya Johnson, Ishana Graham and cox Eve Macleay started the spree claiming gold, with the veteran coxless pair of Strathclyde Park Rowing Club's Ailie Ord and Inverness Rowing Club's Tom Baker claiming gold straight after.

Joseph Wright and Angus Thomson then split into their own separate heats for their Open J14 singles, Wright coming first and Thomson coming second. Shortly after Wright stamped his authority again claiming first in the final while his team mate came in a close third.

The Inverness girls J18 four of Holly Barnard, Hannah Campbell, Rachel Irvine, Bethany Irvine and cox Ellie Kenton stormed over the line to take gold against three other crews.

Other members of the club also competed with distinction claiming a total of six second place finishes, two third place finishes and one fourth place finish.

Following fine performances at the recent European Rowing Championships, this coming weekend sees two Inverness members competing in the second Rowing World Rowing Cup regatta of 2014 being held from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June in Aiguebelette in France. Imogen Walsh races in the women's lightweight double sculls event along with Kat Copeland whilst Alan Sinclair will race in the men's eights event.
