Two Inverness club members are part of Team GB racing in the world rowing championships which take place on the Bosbaan rowing lake in Amsterdam from Sunday 24th till Sunday 31st August.

Lining up to face strong opposition from top international athletes from other nations will be 2014 World Cup gold medallist Imogen Walsh from Inverness and 2014 World Cup silver medallist Alan Sinclair from Belmaduthy in Ross-shire.

Imogen will race in the women's lightweight double sculls event along with her crewmate 2012 Olympic gold medallist Kat Copeland, whilst Alan teams up with fellow 2014 World Cup silver medallists Scott Durant and cox Henry Fieldman to race in the men's coxed pairs event.

The GB Team have been in training camps at various venues in Europe over the past few weeks in preparation for the world championships which have attracted a huge entry from athletes throughout the world.

Congratulations to both north athletes on their selection with best wishes for a successful regatta - from all at Inverness Rowing Club.
