Two Inverness club members are part of a strong Scottish contingent in Team GB racing in the European Rowing Championships which take place on the Malta rowing lake in Poznan from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May.
Lining up to face strong opposition from top international athletes from other European nations will be 2014 World Cup gold medallist Imogen Walsh from Inverness and 2014 World Championship silver medallist Alan Sinclair from Belmaduthy in Ross-shire.
Imogen will race in the women’s lightweight single sculls event, whilst Alan teams up with fellow 2014 World Championship medallists Scott Durant, Tom Ransley and Nathaniel Reilly O’Donnell to race in the men’s coxless fours event.
The GB Team have been in training camps at various venues in Europe over the past few weeks in preparation for the championships which have attracted a huge entry from athletes throughout Europe.
Congratulations to both north athletes on their selection with best wishes for a successful regatta - from all at Inverness Rowing Club.
