R J McLeod Inverness Fours/Quads and Small Boats Head

posted by Roy Sinclair - 4 Nov 2019, 6:46 p.m.

This weekend on Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th November sees a significant entry of fours, quads and small boats competing in the club’s R J McLeod Inverness Fours, Quads and Small Boats Head which takes place on the superb rowing waters of the Caledonian Canal in Inverness.

A record number of crews representing clubs, schools and universities from all over Scotland will be travelling to Inverness to compete in this highly significant event in the Scottish rowing calendar with several Inverness crews racing in each division on both days of the regatta.

Steve Scott, R J McLeod’s project manager for the Inverness West Link Stage 2 project said – “We are delighted to sponsor our neighbours Inverness Rowing Club and also to participate by entering a crew in this exciting event. It will be a relatively short race for the RJM team compared to the race to complete the construction works in the canal which commence on the 11th November and are to be complete for the canal’s reopening in March 2020”.

Racing over the 4500 metre course from Dochgarroch to the finish line beside the rowing club boathouse close to Tomnahurich Bridge on Saturday starts at 11.15 and 11.30am for crews in division 1 and at 2.45 and 3pm for crews in division 2. On Sunday, division 1 starts at 10.45 and 11am with division 2 starting at 2.15 and 2.30pm.
