Crews from Inverness Rowing Club travelled to take part in the Glasgow Rowing Club's Small Boats Head on the River Clyde on Saturday 22nd March.
Brian Bell and Tom Baker had a comprehensive win in the Mens Veteran Coxless Pairs beating their nearest opponents a much younger St Andrew Boat Club crew by a full minute with a time of 22 minutes 22 seconds and in doing so finished in fourth place overall, the higher placed crews also being of Open and younger categories.
Taking part in Mens R2 Single Sculls, Alistair Duff produced a fine performance to claim second place in this category with a time of 23 minutes 36 seconds.
Dave Rothwell and Alan MacDiarmid sculled well in the Mens Veteran Double Sculls and recorded a creditable time of 25 minutes 48 seconds over the twisty Clyde course.
On Sunday morning, Alan Sinclair travelled to Strathclyde Park to take part in the Scottish Junior time trial in which he recorded some of his best times to date over the 2000 metre international course which should see him being invited to take part in the next series of trials for selection of the Scottish Junior team for the forthcoming Home International regatta in Cork, Ireland.
The Inverness Mens Novice squad had their final water based training outings
on the Caledonian Canal at the weekend in preparation for the Tideway Head of
the River Race on the River Thames in London on Saturday 29th March.
