posted by Roy Sinclair - 13 Feb 2019, 5:53 p.m.

This weekend on Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th February sees a significant entry of eights and small boats competing in the club’s JBT Inverness Winter Boats Head and the Scottish Students Head which takes place on the superb rowing waters of the Caledonian Canal in Inverness.

A significant number of crews representing clubs, schools and universities from all over Scotland will be travelling to Inverness to compete in this highly significant event in the Scottish rowing calendar with several Inverness crews racing in each division.

Racing over the 4500 metre course from Dochgarroch to the finish line beside the club boathouse close to Tomnahurich Bridge on Saturday starts at 12 noon for crews in division 1 and at 2.30pm for crews in division 2 whilst on Sunday, division 1 starts at 11.30am with division 2 starting at 2pm.

In support of this well attended event, Director of JBT and Club Vice Captain Robert Gordon was delighted to offer the following comments in supporting this significant Scottish rowing event. " JBT Distribution are delighted to be sponsoring the Inverness regatta. Rowing epitomises everything that is good in sport, promotes healthy activity across a wide age range and particularly the need for individuals to act as one for a common objective. This translates directly to business and is a primary reason why we continue to support the event. "

With favourable weather forecast for the coming weekend, spectators and supporters are encouraged to come along to support all the crews competing this on the Caledonian Canal.
